How it All Began

In 2009, Vikram and Agnes Singh brought their passion for great food and old family recipes to a warm and inviting spot in downtown La Grange. Kama Indian Bistro aims to be unique, an exotic refuge from the daily grind, perfect for a romantic date, a dinner with friends or a quick appetizer and martini.

The Restaurant

In an unassuming storefront in downtown La Grange lies a sleek, sexy restaurant that’s far from ordinary. Sink back into comfortable cushions with relaxing, upbeat music, enjoy the romantic atmosphere and escape from the everyday.
Kama Bistro is named after the Indian cupid, the god of love and passion, symbolizing the aesthetic pleasure of the senses. Indulge your senses and experience the passion Kama brings to its food and service.

The Food

This is not your ordinary Indian food. Kama Bistro’s menu puts an emphasis on fresh, high quality ingredients. Freshly ground spices go into sauces made from scratch every day. Homemade paneer (cottage cheese), all-natural chicken and prime domestic lamb make for superior protein. Everything is prepared to order to ensure its quality.
The focus shifts from the ordinary to the creative, the original, the delightful. Where other restaurants tread well-worn ground, Kama experiments with tastebud-tempting results.

The time-tested family recipes will tantalize your senses and tingle your taste buds. This is progressive Indian food—classic dishes deliciously prepared, new twists on the familiar, and exclusive dishes you won’t find anywhere else. Influences include American, French, Chinese and Middle Eastern cuisine. Lobster Kama, Shrimp Sunaina, tamarind glazed baby back ribs, lamb tacos and spinach kabab—these are just a few of the creative and original menu items exclusive to Kama Bistro.
Small plates starters will whet your appetite as you explore the menu. Try hearty samosas, zesty chilly crispy potatoes, Indo-French inspired chicken lemon tadka or crispy pakora.

Delight in entrees such as comforting, creamy chicken tikka masala, fiery vindaloo (available with a ghost pepper kama-kaze sauce!), slow-marinated, tandoori-cooked lamb chop masala, exotic prawn bhujnee or achari masala, a signature blend of over a dozen spices.

The Drinks

The menu is rounded out with innovative cocktails, diverse wine and a select microbrew list to accompany your food. The martinis, including mango, cinnamon pleasure, pineapple and cucumber chili, are always made from fresh fruit purees and homemade syrups, all-natural and a perfect balance to spicy food.
